I service 30km around the suburb of Belmont, Western Australia for home births and all public hospitals in the Perth region.
Hello!
My name is Kaylee, and I am a pregnancy, birth and postpartum doula and beginner photographer servicing 30km around the Belmont, WA area.
My goal is to support women to achieve the birth of their dreams. I believe in a woman’s ability to trust her own body and be able to birth her baby the way she wants to.
Birth is a sacred journey that deserves unwavering support and reverence. I’m here to guide and comfort you, ensuring your path is filled with confidence, love, and strength.
I firmly support all women and their right to decide how they want to birth their babies. I offer judgement-free care, guidance and education for all paths through pregnancy and birth. Whether that is an unassisted free birth, a home birth with a private midwife, a hospital induction, or an elective or emergency cesarean section.
My goal is to support women who have had previous cesarean sections to navigate their VBAC journey. As a plus-sized mum, I’m particularly invested in connecting with and assisting other plus-sized mothers, as I believe they need extra support to navigate the coercion they experience in the hospital system. Induction and cesarean rates are at an all-time high, with the induction rate in WA currently sitting at 30% and the cesarean rate sitting at 41% as of June 2023.
I became a mother at the young age of 19 and the hospital system took advantage of the fact that I was uneducated and underprepared for my journey into motherhood. It was during my second pregnancy when I was preparing for my VBAC that I really understood just how little support and informed choices we are given by our healthcare providers.
We lack the village our ancestors once had, and we need to take things back to then, where the mother was nurtured, kept warm and felt safe, instead of traumatised and coerced into being another cog on the machine.
All women deserve better birth outcomes, and a doula is a great step to achieve that.
I look forward to hearing from you.
