Hi, I’m Marley!
I pride myself on a down to earth, non judgemental approach without the spiritual hoo-ha.
Having a baby is a wholeeee thing. We can never have too much support!
My approach is to offer a service for all. Not everyone feels they need a Doula the whole time so I do birth education so that you and your partner can go into birth feeling empowered, confident and educated to make decisions. Trying to understand the pros, cons, risks and benefit mumbo jumble when you are in the midst of labour is not a vibe if you don’t understand it. Let me help you get to a place where you can enter your birth space feeling that you know exactly what your body is doing and what you can do to assist it.
My fully journey package is for the mama who wants to be supported through the whole pregnancy, labour and postpartum. Together we build an intimate relationship where I learn all about the type of birth you would love to achieve and how emotionally, physically and mentally I can get you there while also being available for any questions you have in the mean time. After that sweet baby is born, I will be there to support you through the transition that is postpartum and be there for you through emotional support, cleaning, cooking, settling baby, running errands.. anything that makes you feel supported and nourished!
Then I offer postpartum care which is based on purely focussing on life after baby. As above, I will work with you to support you through those weeks after baby has arrived and do what I can to take the load off your hands. Everyone loves to help at the start and then slowly as people go back to work and life moves on we can feel a little more alone.. this is where I can help.
I also don’t give two shits whether your baby is 3 days old or 6 months old. Help should not just stop because they are no longer a ‘newborn’. In fact, some women find the journey gets harder and not easier, it really does depend on your baby! However, no matter what your baby throws at you, it can be made easier with some support.
My vibe is light banter and humour, non judgemental, relaxed but firm, cheeky yet serious when needed, empathetic, compassionate and loving. I truly absolutely adore being a Doula, it really gives me the capacity to use my strengths in the best way possible and with my birth education, intuition and caring nature (I feel like a bit of a dickhead writing that but look I think it’s true?!) I feel I can really help support you to having an empowering birth that you leave feeling good about.
To me, it’s not about just vaginal births with no intervention.. it’s about making decisions that we feel confident and informed about. NO ONE should leave their birth feeling traumatized! I will do my absolute best to always advocate for you and support you so that the 1 in 3 women that experience birth trauma is reduced.
I can’t wait to support you mama! Please reach out if you have any questions x
Apologies I have basically no photos without my child or pregnant, welcome to the mum life.
