Hi! I’m Jenn. I’m a birth & postpartum doula. I’m passionate about pregnancy, childbirth and child-rearing. My mission is to empower expectant mums to have the labour and childbirth experience they want, and to help families navigate the first precious months of bub’s life outside the womb. I will do what I can to help mum own the process of bringing her child into this world, and to have as positive an experience as possible.

I have experience with Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), home, hospital, water, land and caesarean birth, and lots of practice, as a mum and as a former volunteer with the 3Bridges Early Years Support Services, supporting mums & bubs through the trials and joys of early infancy. I’m also available to be a doula for older siblings, to be their dedicated buddy throughout the labour & birth.

I am a wife and a mother, a daughter, sister, aunt and niece, teacher, artist and friend. Besides all things birth, I love books, thrift shopping, spirituality, puzzles, Zentangle and healthy living. Born & raised in Canada, college-educated & married in the US, I’ve now lived in Georges River for over 10 years and I’m eager to support you in your childbearing process.

Pregnancy & Birth Support

My labour & birth package consists of 3-4 visits (2.5-3hrs each) before baby comes, helping you mentally prepare for bub's arrival, sharing labouring & birthing wisdom with you, then I'm on-call for two weeks either side of your due date (3 weeks prior for multiples), I'll be with you during your labour and birth, and then I'll also visit with you twice after baby's born.

Cæsarean Birth Support

This is a special birth package for families who know ahead of time that they will (or probably will) be having a caesarean birth, for whatever reason. Just because mum won't be experiencing labour and vaginal birth doesn't mean that she can't have a say in how her caesarean birth goes and personalise it according to her values. This package consists of 3-4 visits (2.5-3hrs each) before baby comes, helping you mentally prepare for bub's arrival, sharing caesarean birthing wisdom with you (including helping you formulate a birth plan), then I'm available to be with you prior to and immediately following your surgery, and will also visit with you 2-3 times after baby's born.

Birth Planning

This birth planning package consists of the pre-birth planning visits (as in the Pregnancy & Birth Support package), without the labour, birth and postnatal visits.

Sibling Doula

If you have older child(ren) whom you'd like present at your birth, it can be so helpful to have a dedicated buddy for them, someone who is knowledgeable about birth *and* about young children, and who can dedicate her attention to them amidst the flurry of activity of labour & birth. This package consists of 3-4 visits before baby comes, to get to know each other, full support throughout labour & birth, and meeting again after little sister/brother arrives.

Primary Pregnancy & Birth Support

This primary support package is designed for women without a birth partner, going this alone – in other words, I will be your primary support person. It consists of the standard pregnancy & birth support package, as above, plus an additional 16hrs of postnatal support spread over four weeks, i.e. 4-5 visits of 3-4hrs each (content as described below).

Postpartum Support

My postnatal package consists of 24hrs of support spread over six weeks, i.e. 6-7 visits of 3-4hrs each. The visits consist of helping you adjust to motherhood! I can mind baby while you take care of yourself, I can help around the house with light chores while you spend time with baby, if you've got other kids I can help with them while you spend time with bub, I can be a sounding board, I can accompany you to any appointments or running errands.... I can basically be an extra pair of hands wherever/however you need it, just about.

Infant Massage Education

This is an optional add-on to the above-mentioned packages, consisting of instruction in various infant massage strokes & techniques.
